Koryo Korean Barbeque (Brentwood Mall and Richmond Centre)
If you’re like me, one of the things that you like most about eating at a Korean restaurant is the banchan (all the little side dishes). Since Koryo is a fast-food version of a Korean restaurant, you can’t expect the banchan to be of the same quality as a full service restaurant but I still think it’s better than the regular fries/onion rings fodder that you get at the other food court outlets.
I was feeling in the mood for a burger at Brentwood a while ago but didn’t really want to go for A&W so when I saw the BBQ Beef Flamer I thought it sounded awesome. They take the regular bbq beef that they use for their other dishes and put it in a bun with tomatoes and lettuce and slather it with their Korean bbq sauce. You have the option of regular fries or any side dish so I chose the garlic potatoes. I like how the potatoes have a nice crunchy texture to it.
Now if you’re looking for something a little more filling, you can try the Koryo Jumbo Combo… it comes with two scoops of rice (plain or seasoned) with bbq beef, chicken, and ribs along with your choice of sides. When I was at Richmond Centre, I picked the fried dumplings, garlic potatoes, steamed eggs, and macaroni salad. It’s a bit expensive for mall food, but it is very good and you don’t have to decide between beef and chicken.
