Wally’s Burgers – Fail!
The other day while going to pick up some food at the Columbus Restaurant in Killarney Square. I noticed that Wally’s Burgers had reopened in this little mini-mall. To be honest, I had never eaten at the original Wally’s Burgers on Kingsway even though I had passed by it numerous times.
I figured that today was as good as any to give it a try. It was about 2 minutes past 6pm on Sunday and I noticed that some diners were enjoying their meals inside. When I got inside and started to look at the large menu on the side of the wall, the guy working there said “Hi.. sorry, we’re closed now.” The other customer who had walked in right before me said what I was thinking in my head… “Seriously? It’s 6pm on a Sunday!”
I just shrugged my shoulders and walked out. I mentioned in a previous post how I’ve noticed how lazy some restaurants are getting lately and not opening but this just takes the cake. If you’re not going to open for dinner, why close at 6pm? They should have just closed at 3pm. And if you’re closed, why leave the door wide open so people think you’re open?
Food: couldn’t really tell you
Service: -2.5
Update: 10 months later and we’ve recently revisited Wally’s Burgers for a second chance visit. This time, we actually got to taste the food so take a look at our updated post.
