Cultures (Metrotown)
I have a bit of a backlog of posts that I haven’t got to… here’s one from last December… With Christmas fast approaching, we’re spending a lot more time in the mall looking for gift ideas… which means that we’re also spending a lot more time in the food court. Unlike a lot of the fast food burger stands, Cultures has a large selection of freshly made salads available. We kind of stopped coming here a while ago because the entrées started to go down in quality and they stopped offering the roast chicken but we were pleasantly surprised on our last couple of visits that they’ve improved a bit.
For about seven bucks you get your choice of entrée and two generous helpings of your choice of salads. Lately, they seem to be serving lasagna and fish so I picked the lasagna. This was much better than the last time I had it at Cultures (I’m not saying it was phenomenal but it was pretty meaty and tasty.
I like their cole slaw – although it may be a bit too creamy for some people. I also tried their cold spicy tofu salad but I would probably pass on this salad the next time around.
They used to have a really good tabouleh salad here before but I haven’t seen it the last few times I’ve come by – I’m not sure if they stopped making it or if it’s just so popular that everyone orders it.
On our most recent visit, we had the fish and it too was better than I expected.
