Cindy’s is a small little diner/café located near Trafiq on Marine Drive in West Vancouver.  They were pretty busy on a Saturday morning so they must be doing something right.

Shady Island Seafood Bar and Grill

Shady Island Seafood touts their fish and chips as “The Best on the Boardwalk”.  That sounds like fighting words if you ask me.  Steveston has no shortage of places to find great fish and chips so what do you have to do to be the “best on the boardwalk”?

Penang Delight Cafe – Seafood Laksa

Not too long ago, we had our first visit to Penang Delight Cafe on Rupert Street.  The food was pretty good so when we found ourselves running errands in the neighbourhood recently, we wound up stopping by for another go.  One of the things that we enjoy about Penang Delight is the music that they play - not your usual top 40′s stuff.  It might seem a little odd to hear 70′s western music while enjoying some terrific Malaysian cuisine, but we liked it.

Sweet Thea @ the Royal City Farmers’ Market

We were out at the Royal City Farmers’ Market located at the Quay in New West (now called River Market) in April.  The last one for the winter season, it was nice to see vendors back in the Quay for a change even if it was just for a short period of time.

Romer’s Burger Bar (River District) – Burger of the Week

ñOne of the great things about Romer’s is that they keep their menus fresh by having “Burgers of the Month” or “Burgers of the Week”.  Take, for example, one of our favourite burgers… The Holiday Burger.

Kirin Seafood Restaurant (Starlight Casino) – Dim Sum

Our misadventures in dining seem to be an on-going theme with us.  We were checking out the new Lowe’s down in Queensborough and decided to try out the Kirin Seafood Restaurant located in the nearby Starlight Casino for dim sum.

Jules Cafe is a new establishment that just recently opened up on Rumble Street near Royal Oak.  Serving up freshly made sandwiches, burgers, salads and baked goods, Jules fills a much needed niche along this growing corridor.

Sushi Oyama – Three Times a Charm

It’s difficult for me to understand why I avoided Sushi Oyama for so long… and here we are on my third post for them already (see our last two visits here and here).  Fresh, quality ingredients… good serving sizes… and an interesting setting – what more can you ask for?
