Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck at The Waldorf
What do you do if you have a huge parking lot that’s being under utilized? If you’re The Waldorf, you gather together a bunch of food trucks and arrange to have a good old fashion food fest.
Not being one that travels downtown very often, I’ve yet to sample the countless food truck offerings that have popped up in the downtown core. So this was the perfect chance to try out some of the different options all in one spot.
There were about a dozen food carts stationed in The Waldorf’s parking lot on the sunny BC Day long weekend. We arrived shortly after noon and there were already big lineups at the most popular food truck… namely Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck.
The Hot Angie was massively huge and stuffed with hot capicola, peppers, and havarti on sourdough bread and served along with pickles and Hardbite chips. This was a really good grilled cheese sandwich but it was also quite filling.
The East Van Food Fest is going on every Sunday until September 2nd from noon to 6pm but make sure you go early if you want to avoid the lineups.
