One of my new favourite spots for doughnuts in Vancouver is Lucky’s Doughnuts inside the 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters on the corner of Main and 13th.  Their hand-crafted designer doughnuts are made fresh from scratch and are almost too gorgeous to eat… almost.

Lee’s Donuts

After visiting Whet.Kitchen.Bar.Patio last year, we stopped by Lee’s Donuts in the Public Market.  Lee’s has been in Granville Island for years… before all of the new donut shops started opening up around town.

When you hear the name “Duffin’s Donuts”, the first thing that would normally come to mind is donuts… but you would be missing out on the fact that they also serve Chinese food and a vast number of sandwiches/subs.

Harmony Donuts – Welcome to the Dreamatorium

In the middle of nowhere, there’s a tiny shop that’s frying up tasty cake donuts with a big selection of glazes and toppings. It would be very easy to drive past this shop and not notice it. Actually, it would be easy to walk into this store and not know that they sell donuts.

Cartems Donuterie (Pop Up Shop)

The latest craze to hit the Vancouver food scene is Cartems Donuterie (don’t you just love the word “Donuterie”?) who opened up a pop up shop diagonally across from Pigeon Park on the corner of East Hastings and Carrall (yup, that’s not a mis-print).  Touted as offering freshly made donuts with unique flavours and locally sourced ingredients – they are the current darling of the Vancouver donut community.

Romer’s Burger Bar – River District

I was scrolling through my Urbanspoon app today looking for nearby restaurants and noticed an entry for Romer’s Burger Bar.  I did a double-take because I’ve been to Romer’s before and knew that it was on West 4th… At first, I thought my app wasn’t working but when I clicked on the entry, I soon found out that Romer’s had indeed opened up 5 minutes from us down in the new River District area of Killarney.

Lee’s Donuts

It’s been said many times before… if the only donuts that you’ve ever had were from Timmy Ho’s or Krispy Kreme… you’ve never truly had a good donut.  If you live in the Lower Mainland and you want a great donut, you have to stop by Lee’s Donuts down in Granville Island.
