There’s a small little hole-in-the-wall place in Station Square that’s been our go-to place to get a quick and tasty donair or souvlaki plate. They’ve only got three small round tables to sit at but we usually go for take out. Despite being very cramped, the food is consistently very good.
Their Donair in Pita is a classic with nicely grilled donair meat that’s been cut off the roasting spit. With the perfect amount of tzatziki, the pita wrapper is not too thick but still manages to keep from getting soggy (I hate soggy pita).
When we’re looking for something a little more substantial, we get the Chicken Souvlaki which comes with a Greek salad, pita bread, rice, roast potato, grilled chicken skewer and a hot pepper.
The food is consistently good and you can tell that the proprietor takes pride in making their food.

**UPDATE** Apr 9, 2013 – Solav Souvlaki reopened last week at a new location near the Joyce Street Skytrain station: 4902 Joyce Strret, Vancouver. Yay!
