Port Seafood (Lansdowne Mall)

I remember Port Seafood when it used to be in the old Richmond Centre Mall food court.  The food wasn’t bad… kind of a mix between a fish and chip shop and a typical Asian food court stall.  I think they moved over to Lansdowne Mall a long time ago back when the rents started skyrocketing at Richmond Centre.

The food court selection at Lansdowne is a little limited so I thought I’d give Port Seafood a go since I haven’t eaten there for a long time.  I chose their Curry Prawns which is served on a bed of rice.  First thing that I noticed was that all of their ingredients were pre-made and just dumped together in the sauce.  They took a few shrimps, some broccoli and cauliflower, and dipped them into the pre-made curry sauce before ladling onto the rice.

Not much curry flavour to the sauce and way too much onions (and I usually like onions).  I think they must have been sitting in the sauce too long and got all mushy… not in a nice caramelized onion way… just mushy.

If I ever go back here, I would probably stick with their fish and chips or deep fried spring roll.
