Amorosa Pasta House

If you’re in the mood for a ton of yummy carbs in Burnaby but don’t want to line up at Anton’s, you should try Amorosa Pasta House located on the corner of Edmonds and 6th.

The tables inside are effficiently sectioned off into 4 separate dining areas with a modest yet utilitarian design.  In addition to the preset menu items, you have the option of customizing your own pasta creation with a choice of pasta, sauces, and toppings.

I decided to try Linguine with Mushrooms, Scallops, and Prosciutto in a light cream sauce.  The linguine noodles seemed a bit thicker than I’m used to (almost but not quite like fettuccine) and the dish was quite saucy.  This was a really generous amount of pasta and enough to put you into carb overload.

Like the linguine, the large Lasagna was a bit saucy.  Not as bad as the overly saucy lasagna at Kinemi’s Kitchen though.

I also picked up an order of their Garlic Bread.  At first, I wasn’t impressed because the bread was quite soggy when I had brought it home but I figured that it might have been because I left it wrapped up too long.  I just tossed it in the toaster over for a couple of minutes and it crisped up very nicely.  The garlic bread was perfect for sopping up all of the sauce in the pasta dishes.

You also get complimentary plain bread with the pasta – I threw this in the toaster oven too and it was just as good as the garlic bread at sopping up the sauce.

The pasta dishes are pretty good but not spectacular, however, for the price, it does have good value.
