Romer’s Burger Bar (River District) – Rodeo Star Burger
Another day, another revisit… this time to Romer’s Burger Bar – River District.
Did you know that you can get delicious Drunken Doughnuts to go? If you’ve had a bad day at work, a great way to get over your troubles is by drowning your sorrows in these freshly fried sweet treats.
What really makes these fried morsels of dough fantastic is the three dipping sauces: Limoncello, Kahlua Nutella, and Maple Whisky.
I was a little disappointed with the Mango Chicken Salad because there weren’t any mango pieces in the salad – only a mango drizzle. The salad itself was fine but I think it would have been a lot better if it came with mango chunks.
I was expecting the Spicy Hot Butter Sauce and Gorgonzola Cream Chicken Wings to be really messy… partly because the menu said that it was messy. I suppose I thought that meant the wings were going to be slathered in the sauces but they actually came with the sauces individually packaged and ready for dipping. The wings themselves, didn’t have much flavour without the sauces and, contrary to the menu description, weren’t messy at all – even when dipped in the sauce. I think I prefer their Sea Salt and Toasted Pepper Wings instead – see them in our Turducken post here.
The Rodeo Star burger, however, was quite messy due to the abundance of the smokey bbq sauce. Basically a bbq bacon cheeseburger by ingredients, it’s the quality of the ingredients and the care that they are prepared that makes this burger really tasty.
