Cactus Club Cafe (Lougheed) – Holiday Tasting Menu

I’m surprised that we’ve never stopped by the Cactus Club on Lougheed Hwy before considering we often dine at the nearby Milestones.

On a recent visit, we tried their Holiday Tasting Menu which gave us 3 different appy/entrée/dessert options.  We decided to start with the Edamame Beans – they came served in a deep bowl and we were surprised at how many beans you get with this appetizer.  It’s not as salty as the ones I’ve had at some Japanese places but I kind of prefer it this way.  We had to be a bit careful eating these as the juice in the pods came squirting out on more than one occasion.

The BBQ Duck Clubhouse has always been one of my favourites and comes served with sea-salted fries.

The pecan fruit bread is sliced thinly so it can be a bit messy eating this sandwich but it goes well with the salty taste of the crispy prosciutto and the meatiness of the duck and chicken.

To finish off our meal, we had the Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar served with hand whipped cream, caramel sauce and crunchy chocolate pearls.
