Eagles Buffet (Tulalip)

There really is nothing like a Vegas casino buffet but what do you do when you simply don’t have the time (or money) to make it to Sin City?  Fortunately, Tulalip is a pretty close drive from Vancouver and they happen to have a buffet in their casino.  While not on par with a Vegas casino, it’s not bad either and they have a pretty varied selection of food.

The first thing that I always notice upon entering a casino in the States is the amount of cigarette smoke wafting through the air.

There is so many food stations here that you really have to be selective in what you put on your plate.

Surprisingly, they really don’t have a very good salad section… I guess that explains a lot about the health conditions down in the US.

In addition to a lot of hot entrées, Eagles Buffet also has a big dessert section with a big selection of gelato.  The gelato is not self-serve – which I think is a good idea because the last thing I want to eat is a bunch of ice cream that some kid has been sticking his fingers in.

Bonus points for having oyster crackers with their soup.

I honestly can’t remember all of the stuff we ate but some of the items included juicy pork ribs, rotisserie chicken, roasted veggies, poached salmon, pot roast, meatloaf, and meatballs.

Not to mention the turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pasta.

One thing that I discovered (that I think a lot of people overlook) is the root beer floats.  If you go to the gelato station, they will make up a special root beer float for you.  Personally, I think they used too much ice cream and not enough root beer but it was still pretty good.
