Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub (Whistler 2013) – Guinness and Crab Bisque
Dubh Linn Gate is one of the restaurants that we were interested in trying out since they have a patio. Unforunately, dogs aren’t welcome on patios in Whistler. Some places will let you sit at the edge of the patio while your pooch is tied up outside but we prefer to be unsegregated so we grabbed some food to go.
You can’t go to an Irish pub and not order something made with Guinness so we picked up the Steak & Guinness Pie ($18). This had all of the makings of a great meat pie… certified angus beef, mushrooms and carrots in a thick Guinness gravy topped with pie pastry. We also added a small Caesar salad for $2. The pie was a bit salty from the Guinness gravy but it was very filling and we wound up having leftovers afterwards.
The Honey Garlic Wings ($13) were super sticky but very satisfying. We also ordered the Guinness and Crab Bisque ($11) which had big chunks of crab in it. This soup had an intense flavour to it – I think we could have stuck to just a cup of soup instead of the full bowl.
This Irish pub is located in the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside at the base of the mountain near the ski lifts, just off Skiers Plaza.
