Earls Kitchen + Bar (Lougheed) – Lobster and Prawn Roll
With a bunch of errands to run in Burnaby, we were looking for a quick bite to eat and decided to hit up the Earls on Lougheed. There’s a Swiss Chalet next door but our first experience there turned us off and we haven’t been back since.
If you’re looking for non-alcoholic drinks, Earls has a few options. We tried the Pomegranate Cooler (pomegranate, acai, agave nectar, fresh lime) and the Little Cuban (mint, lime, soda water). Both drinks were pretty refreshing and tasty (the Little Cuban is basically a virgin mojito).
I’ve tried the Chicken, Brie and Fig Sandwich previously but I remembered it being very good so I ordered it again. Still love the addictive skinny fries that it comes with.
We noticed the Lobster and Prawn Roll ($18) on the menu and knew we had to try it out. The grilled brioche bun was perfectly soft on the inside with a slight crisp from the grilling process. The only downside to this classic New England sandwich was that they piled the lobster and prawn salad on top of the bun so we had to squish the filling into the bun ourselves which made it a bit messy to eat. I would definitely order it again though.
