ABC Country Restaurant (North Burnaby) – Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese

It’s been many moons since the last time we dined at an ABC Country Restaurant.  I suppose one of the reasons why we never returned was because there’s always been a bit of a stigma attached to ABC.

Well, we were running some errands in the neigbourhood in early July so we decided to stop by the ABC on Boundary Road for lunch.  As expected, the other clientelle were mainly older but that didn’t bother us too much since we were just here for some food.

We started out with the Strawberry Milkshake ($4.99) which was perfectly thick and served with whip cream.  The Country Sampler Platter ($13.99) comes with sweet chili chicken wings, meaty dry ribs, celery, sweet potato fries and crispy onion rings.

We also ordered one of their special items… the Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese ($12.99) with garlic toast and caesar salad.  The mac and cheese, while not the cheesiest, was pretty good and there was plenty of pulled pork and caramelized onions.

The food here’s pretty good – they might just need an image makeover
