Oyster Bay (Las Vegas 2013)
Oyster Bay is an Italian Seafood restaurant located in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. With the vast array of restaurants available in the area, it’s a bit unassuming with the straw awnings, wood posts, and nautical rope serving as a partition to the rest of the mall.
We weren’t originally planning on dining here but found ourselves getting hungry while shopping so decided to give it a shot. The food turned out to be quite good. We started out with some complimentary bread with an evoo parmesan balsamic dipping sauce. The bread was freshly baked and had a soft interior… great for dipping.
I ordered the Filet Mignon ($39.95) which came with a super tender 10 oz steak cooked to medium rare and served with a mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes. It’s difficult to find a restaurant that can properly cook a medium rare steak but, as it turns out, Oyster Bay has it nailed.
Similarly, the Chicken Marsala ($22.95) with mushrooms and onions was perfectly cooked as the chicken was moist, tender, and juicy.
Despite being full from our entrées, it wasn’t difficult to convince us to order dessert as our waiter brought out a tray of different desserts to tempt us. We wound up ording the Lemoncello Cake ($6.95) which was one of the best lemon cakes I’ve ever had… a very light lemon flavour and supremely creamy in texture.
When our waiter found out we were celebrating a birthday, he also brought us out a complimentary crème brûlée. I didn’t think we would finish it because we were so full but the crème brûlée was very light so we managed to polish it off too.
Service was friendly and attentive. This was actually a really good find for an unplanned dinner.
