Vina Vietnamese (Richmond Centre)
Many years ago, a Vina food stall was my first introduction to to Vietnamese-style food. Now, after experiencing real hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurants, I can still appreciate the food from Vina.
While it’s true that a lot of the food stalls in Richmond Centre share a similar style, there’s a few things that stands out at Vina… one of which is the Roll Dip wrapped up in rice paper. It may look like an egg roll but the rice paper gives it a thinner texture.
When I’m looking for some comfort food, I’ll grab a Beef Au Concasse which is basically minced beef in tomato sauce served over rice. It reminds me a bit like a sloppy joe served on rice.
Unlike some other food stalls that are a bit careless with dishing out their food, the server that I got today actually seemed to take great care when he was plating my food. Not sure if all of the staff that work here do this but it was a pleasant change.
