YEW seafood + bar – Breakfast
For a while, I was having a lot of trouble finding places to eat for breakfast. Most traditional restaurants don’t open for breakfast until 10am unless you’re going to IHOP or Mickey D’s. Then I discovered hotel restaurants like YEW seafood + bar located in the Four Seasons hotel.
YEW’s interior is quite impressive with grand, tall ceilings, large skylights and an indoor pergola. There were plenty of diners when I visited during the morning (many hotel guests no doubt).
I started my morning with a Hot Chocolate ($5) with whipped cream and chocolate shavings in a large mug. My breakfast came with my choice of toast and I opted for rye. The bread was just okay, I’ve had better rye before.
The YEW Hash ($19) felt enormous. Served in a large oval skillet with sausage, thinly sliced corned beef, potatoes, sauerkraut, soft poached eggs and hollandaise. I loved how the shoestring potatoes were almost like hickory sticks. Looking at this picture just makes me drool… the shaved corned beef mixed with the golden hue of the egg yolks and hollandaise sauce and the crispy potatoes… I would definitely come back for this.
Service was very attentive and friendly during my visit.
