Giovane Cafe – Sugar Buns and Chocolate Zeppole

After my less-than-stellar breakfast at Prestons, I was still feeling a bit unsatisfied so I decided to walk over to Giovane Café located in the Fairmont Pacific Rim.

I’ve heard tales of the exceptional sugar buns that Giovane produces and knew I had to try one.  It’s hard to miss the location with the giant yellow “g” outside the café.

They actually sell a number of different pastry items including Chocolate Croissants.

But this is what I really came for… the Chocolate Zeppole and Sugar Bun.  It’s really difficult to tell the size from the picture below but these treats were huge.

I appreciated the fact that they carefully packaged the buns in containers to ensure they wouldn’t get squished on my trip home.  Despite their delicate nature, the buns are quite hefty due to the ample amount of filling inside.

Inside these perfectly crafted orbs is the stuff that legends are made of.

Decadent cream filling that would put a smile on anyone’s face.

They’re not cheap, but they’re well worth the price.
