Church’s Chicken (Lougheed Hwy) – Fried Chicken Breakfast
When everything else is closed, coming across the following three words is like winning the lotto: “Open 24 Hours”.
I was around Brentwood on a weekend morning and, due to all of the renovations, my regular breakfast choice (IHOP) was closed. I wandered aimlessly for a bit until I came across Church’s Chicken. Fried chicken for breakfast? Well, it’s not the strangest thing that I’ve had for breakfast.
I ordered the Spicy Chicken Thigh Sandwich combo with small fries and a drink for $7.65 (and added a small gravy). I used to practically live on crinkle cut fries and gravy from the UBC SUB years ago so this was definitely a throwback.
The sandwich was large and contained juicy thigh meat that had a respectable amount of spicy heat to it.
If you’re looking for a different (albeit artery-clogging) option for breakfast, Church’s makes an interesting choice. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait if you come in at odd hours because they may have to fry it up fresh for you.
