Crepe Des Amis – Creperie in River Market

Crepe Des Amis is a little creperie located in the New West Quay (or River Market as they like to be called now).

I stopped by for lunch in June and had a pleasant chat with the owner, Li Lee, while she made my Lyon crepe ($6.75). This savory crepe is comprised of turkey, mushrooms, tomato, and spinach with a Caesar dressing.

The owner explained to me that crepes are street food in France and convinced me to enjoy my meal the French way. Since crepes are soft, it was a bit difficult to eat but thoroughly enjoyable.

At the time of my visit, Alain was still sick but Li Lee took it in stride and we talked about how they met and why they decided to start this restaurant. Sadly, Alain passed away on Aug 25th. Our thoughts and wishes go out to Li Lee and their son and hope that she finds the strength to reopen in the near future.

If you’d like to donate to a memorial fund for their son’s education, you can visit the Alain Cocu Memorial Fund.
