Thai Express (Lougheed Town Centre)

Thai Express is a fast food chain that’s located in many shopping centres in the Lower Mainland. While I don’t find myself in Lougheed Mall very often (mainly because traffic in the area is crazy), I did notice that they opened up a Thai Express here.

Now, it’s been a while since I last ate at Thai Express, but I don’t remember the prices being as exorbitant as they are in this location. I’m not sure if the prices at each location are this high now but it seems kind of pricey for a food court at about $10. For this price, you could probably get a nice Thai dish at an actual restaurant.

Still, the thing I like about Thai Express is that they make your meals in front of you (aside from some of the already prepped ingredients) unlike some of the other Asian stalls where the food’s just sitting under a heat lamp for hours. When you first see them use their supercharged blast furnace under the wok, it’s a sight to behold.

The General Green Curry serves up battered chicken with onions, peppers, eggplant, and Thai basil on top of an ample amount of rice. The food’s actually pretty good for a food court but the prices are a bit high given the venue.
