Purebread (Gastown) – Bakery Heaven
Nothing cures our craving for scones as much as a visit to Purebread. Walking into this bakery located on Hastings Street is a bit overwhelming with the sheer variety of items that they have.
Scones are usually the reason why we come down here. They have a good selection and we haven’t tried one that we didn’t like. On this visit, we picked up the Ginger White Chocolate Scone and the Blueberry Scone and rounded out our order with Cornbread, a Lemon Crumble Bar, the Crack Bar, and the Nutella-filled Bun.
The scones have the perfect crunchy exterior and hearty interior to make you want to just sit down and enjoy the moment. The Lemon Crumble Bar isn’t overly sweet or lemony. My favourite was the Nutella-filled bun – the silky cream gushed out with every bite but it still felt light and airy.
