BKH Jerky – Singaporean-Style Jerky
After our dim sum visit to Fraser Court Seafood Restaurant, we walked over to BKH Jerky to pick up some of their famous Singaporean-style jerky.
BHK was actually featured on Dragon’s Den when they were looking for some venture capital. Because they make their jerky fresh and use few preservatives, they vacuum seal it to ensure it stays fresh until you’re ready to enjoy it.
We took 1/4 lb each of the pork and spicy pork jerky ($6.5 per 1/4 lb). I found the spicy pork was noticeably spicy but most of the heat seemed to come from the oil in the bag. As for the texture, I found the meat to be a bit chewier than I prefer and not crispy enough.
Although not bad, I actually prefer the bakkwa jerky from Mei Jan Hong in Aberdeen Centre.
