Zee’s Grilled Cheese – Cheesy Steveston

There was a time when the only food you could find around Steveston was fish and chips. Now, don’t get me wrong… I love fish and chips. But, sometimes, you just get a craving for something ooey and gooey. And what could be ooier and gooier than grilled cheese?

Zee’s Grilled Cheese is lcoated on No. 1 Road in Steveston, so it’s only a short jaunt away from the main strip. I like that they have different specials each day.

I picked the Cubana ($9.95) which comes with pulled pork, havarti, pickles, and ham on multigrain sourdough bread with roasted garlic sriracha butter. Don’t worry, it’s not too spicy. It is, however, plenty gooey. I loved how the tartness of the pickles contrasted with the savory pork. The bread is a bit greasy when you pick it up (but that’s to be expected of a grilled cheese sandwich). I actually loved the texture of the grilled multigrain bread… this was definitely a top-notch grilled cheese sandwich.

I’d love to come back and try some more of their grilled cheese sandwiches and maybe even their smoothies.

  1. Definitely craving something ooey gooey! mmmm!

  2. looks pretty tasty. That CUBANA sandwich seems great but $9.95?? …no fries included? in the photo you provided the Cubana in it’s styrofoam container looks like a decent size but im curious if it is a good value for the $9.95 and will it satisfy me for lunch or just a lite snack?

    • It’s about the same price as Mom’s Grilled Cheese truck. From what I recall, there were chips under the sandwich. Tough for me to say if it was filling… I also picked up a Princess pizza from Steveston Pizza at the same time 😊 I think for me, it’d be a good size snack… But I’m a glutton
