Ipoh Bean Sprout Chicken – Crystal Mall

Ipoh is one of the largest cities in Malaysia and, Bean Sprout Chicken is one of the classic Malaysian dishes that they are known for. So, you’d think that we’d order the Ipoh bean sprout chicken when we came across the food stall with the same name.

The truth is that I’ve always found the food court in Crystal Mall to be as confusing and confounding as their parking lot. As someone who doesn’t read Chinese, I’ve always found it difficult in this food court since not all of the menu is written in English.

I wound up ordering the Penang Fried Kuey Teow ($8) which is another very popular dish from Malaysia. They cook this dish fresh for you so you have to wait a bit for it. The dish comes with prawns, chinese sausage, clams, chives, and bean sprouts mixed with flat rice noodles. They did a pretty good job with the wok heat in this dish and they didn’t skimp on the lap cheong.
