Full Ramen – Fleetwood Noodle Shop

Can you find good noodles outside of the downtown core? The answer is obviously “yes” but they tend to be few and far between.

Full Ramen is a smallish shop located in the Fleetwood area of Surrey. The inside of this ramen joint appears fairly utilitarian with a row of seating by the windows, and a long table in the middle of the room that is flanked on both sides by a pair of 4-seat tables. I noticed that it was sweltering inside… not sure if they were keeping it this warm due to the temperature outside or if it was from all of the food being cooked.

I picked the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen ($10.50) and added the 4 piece gyoza ($3.50). The ramen came with thick slices of chashu that were more tender than their thickness would usually imply. There was also egg, kikurage (wood ear mushrooms), and menma (bamboo shoots) in a pork bone soup. This steaming bowl of ramen really cleared up my sinuses.

The gyoza were a bit on the greasy side but they were tasty and the thin wrapper encased some pretty juicy filling.
