Ask For Luigi – Tagliatelle
We came to Ask for Luigi for lunch on a February weekend and wound up waiting for quite a long time until we got a free table. I guess that says a lot about how popular this place is… even on the sketchy side of Chinatown.
Given the amount of time we had to wait… I was super hungry so I made sure to make my order worthwhile. I ordered the Tagliatelle Carbonara with a poached egg and pancetta ($19). And just to be sure, I ordered a side of pork belly for $6. The pork belly was a thick cut and super tender.
The pasta itself was quite good and I found that it wasn’t a very heavy version of carbonara.
Yolk porn? You betcha!
The food’s pretty good here. Wish they had a bigger restaurant though.
