Poi Bowl (Hawaii 2016) – Plate Lunch

If you come to Hawaii, eventually, you’ll want to try some of the local cuisine. Last year, we had a great traditional feast at Ono Hawaiian Foods. Now, you might not expect traditional cuisine at a large mall food court… but you’d be happily surprised at the offerings at Poi Bowl.

Poi Bowl offers plate lunches (a favourite among locals) which is served with two scoops of rice and macaroni salad (if you like carbs, you’ll love Hawaii).

The serving sizes here are huge. For under $13, we received the pork cabbage and beef pot roast plate lunch with an Aloha Strawberry Guava drink. The meat was super tender and went so well with the rice.

Tasty food – check. Big portions – check. Pretty good for mall food… if you’re looking for some really good traditional Hawaiian cuisine, try Ono Hawaiian Foods.
