Leonard’s Bakery (Hawaii 2016) – Lychee Malasadas
Say it with me… “Malasadas”
For those of you who are unfamiliar with malasadas, they’re basically doughnuts without the doughnut holes. But that’s really an oversimplification. These Portuguese confections have a long tradition in Hawaii and have become synonymous with comfort food here.
Last year, we finally made our first visit to Leonard’s and we picked up pretty much every flavour they had. Knowing how filling these malasadas are, on this visit, we stuck to one each of the chocolate dobash and their flavour of the month – Lychee!
The malasadas are made fresh so they’re piping hot when you get them. It’s best to finish these off while they’re fresh. Simply loved the Lychee filling here.
If you get a chance to visit Oahu, make sure to stop by Leonard’s… it’s also pretty close to another favourite of ours, Ono Seafood.
