Sockeye City Grill
Sockeye City Grill is one of the many food establishments located on the main boardwalk in Steveston. As you can imagine in a fishing village such as Steveston, the focus is on seafood.
In addition to the full dine-in restaurant, they have a take out window that you can order and pick up your food from right on the boardwalk.
We wound up ordering a Seafood Chowder as well as Deep-Fried Prawns and Deep-Fried Oysters. I found that the chowder, which had a nice aroma of dill, was more on the watery side instead of being really creamy. Also, the seafood in the chowder seemed to be comprised of mainly just fish.
The prawns were pretty good but I found that the oysters, while quite large, were distracted by the soggy batter. When it comes to fried seafood, the last thing that you want is soggy batter. There’s definitely a lot of better places in Steveston to grab some good fried seafood.
