St. Marc Cafe (Kitahama): Osaka 2017
We first fell in love with St. Marc Cafe during our first visit to Japan last year. Fortunately for us, there was a St. Marc Cafe located right next to our hotel in Osaka.
Sometimes also known as “Choco Cro” because of their signature chocolate-filled croissant-like pastry, you can find St. Marc Cafes all over Japan.
We noticed that they had different varieties this year (including matcha, strawberry, and milk chocolate in addition to their more traditional dark chocolate variety). They cost about 180円 but you can usually get a combo with a drink. We actually also enjoyed the other pastries that we got here including the toasted egg salad sandwich (200円) and the ham and cheese croissant.
They open fairly early (6:30am on weekdays) so it was easy for us to grab a quick bite before we headed out on our daily jaunts.
We wound up drinking a lot of green tea lattes and hot chocolates during our stay (so much better than what you get at Starbucks over here). We even wound up buying sandwiches for our bullet train trip to Tokyo from here. If there’s nothing else that you try in Japan, you’ve got to try their choco cros!
