Lychee (Hawaii 2018): Breakfast Buffet
We were a bit hesitant to try the breakfast buffet at Lychee, a restaurant located on the 2nd floor of the Alohilani Resort, due to the price tag ($35) but quickly realized that most touristy restaurants inside hotels run around the same price range so we bit the bullet.
The restaurant overlooks the O Bar below and there’s a view of the Oceanarium as well. The price tag for the buffet turned out to be a pretty good deal considering that it’s inclusive of tax and tip.
Pretty much all of the food here was on point… from the passion and guava juice to the peanut butter and marshmallow french toast. Some of the other items that we had included taro pancakes, mini loco moco on fried rice topped with a fried egg and a beautifully runny yolk, thick-cut crisp bacon, garlic fried rice, delicious chicken apple sausage links, Portuguese sausage, roast beef, saba, curry bowls, and a self-serve miso station where you can add your own toppings like seaweed, tofu, and pickled radish.
Pretty much everything you could want in a breakfast buffet was here as well as an omelette station, various breads and muffins, malasadas filled with vanilla cream, and fresh fruit. The fresh papaya spears were seriously good.
If you’re gonna pick a breakfast buffet in Waikiki, make sure you check this place out.
