Secret Garden Tea: Holiday High Tea

While we’ve been to Secret Garden Tea in Kerrisdale before, this is our first revisit since they moved locations. Their new spot (really close to their last location) seems brighter and a bit larger. That’s a good thing because it gets really busy here for high tea… especially around the holiday season.

We stopped by for Holiday High Tea which includes the following item…

Savories:
Cauliflower Veloute Soup
Secret Garden Egg Pinwheels
Petit Beef Wellington
Roasted Turkey and Christmas Cranberry Chutney on Housemade Challah Buns

Sweets:
Cranberry Scone with Raspberry Jam and Devonshire Cream
Red Velvet Cookie with white Chocolate Frosting
Tangy Mini Lemon Tart
Decadent Chocolate Cranberry Cake
Persimmon and Gingerbread Brioche Pudding

They have a pretty good selection of teas to choose from and your teapot is kept warm with the tea cozies.

The key is to eat some of the savories and then some of the sweets and repeat. Otherwise, if you save all of the sweet until the end, it can be overwhelming. I was a bit surprised that I really liked the cauliflower soup too.

You also get a cute gingerbread man that you can take home with you.
