Nizzy’s Cafe: Home-Style Cooking
I’ve noticed the signs for Nizzy’s Cafe in the past… mainly when I head further down Byrne Road to get to Fraser Park Restaurant. Located in one of the many business parks in the area, parking can be a bit of an issue as they only have a couple of spots and the street parking fills up quickly from all of the local businesses.
I was a bit surprised at how much seating they had available here because they never looked very busy on my prior visits. I’m assuming they must do a bunch of catering and they probably have steady business from the local tenants. On my first visit, I ordered their Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries, which is made-to-order. It was pretty good but super greasy… kind of reminded me of a burger that you’d get at a backyard bbq. The fries had the slightest crispness on the outside but still soft on the inside.
On my revisit, I had their daily special ($8.98) which was Lasagna with a choice of sides (I opted for the peas and carrots). Again, nothing really special here… seemed very much like home-cooking. It was a good portion size and it had a nice cheesy top layer to it but the meat could have used a bit more seasoning.
They have rotating daily specials here, so it’s not a bad option if you find yourself in the area looking for some home-style cooking.
