Krispy Kreme Doughnuts: Tried and True Kreme-Filled Doughnuts
Okay, I know that the time when Krispy Kreme ruled the doughnut landscape in the Lower Mainland has long since passed. But I still recall the huge lineups at their Delta location when they first opened.
I honestly can’t remember why we were in the neighbourhood in early November but we decided to get a dozen assorted doughnuts. I know it might be sacrilege in Canada, but I do prefer the freshly baked Krispy Kremes over the frozen Tim Bit doughnuts. And if you time it just right, you can actually seem them making their famous glazed doughnuts (their doughnut making contraption is quite impressive).
There are so many choices here but my favourites tend to be their kreme-filled doughnuts and their old-fashioned cake doughnuts. So if you’re in the area and craving a sweet bite, make sure to drop by and check ’em out.

I’ll take Krispy Kremes over Tim Hortons any day (their coffee is pretty good too). The original glazed doughnuts are my favourite, especially if you arrive when the bright neon “HOT NOW” sign is illuminated and the freshly fried doughnuts are still warm and moist (not sure, but I think the last run is mid afternoon).
I know it’s un-Canadian of me but I don’t really like Tim’s (aside from the occasional tim bit).
