Takara Sushi: Solid Japanese Offering in Burnaby
Takara Sushi was the second restaurant that I attempted to try after the Coronapocalypse shut down dine-in eating… we were having a big craving for Japanese food while stuck at home so we might have overdid it with the amount of food we ordered, lol.
This restaurant is located on Canada Way, near Boundary Rd, and had been on my list of places to try for a while. The day I ordered, they were quite busy with fulfilling take-out orders (nice to see that people are supporting local businesses).
On the table is the House Green Salad ($5.50) with mixed greens, carrots, and broccoli with a house ginger dressing (a bit odd with the addition of broccoli), Oyster Motoyaki ($8) with spinach and mushroom, Assorted Tempura ($9.50) with 3 pieces of veggies and 4 pieces of prawn, Beef Teriyaki ($14), Chicken Karaage ($8), Tuna and Sockeye Sashimi ($16), House Roll ($8) filled with kani, tuna, sockeye, tamago, cucumber, avocado, and lastly Spicy Agedashi Tofu ($5.25).
Honestly, the food was quite good with fresh ingredients and a pretty fair price point. Definitely somewhere that I’d like to try dine-in service in the future.
