Paul’s Sub Shop: Hot and Messy Sub… Just How I Like it
It’s been a number of years since I last visited Paul’s Sub Shop. This small, non-descript shop located on Imperial Street is next to one of our go-to local pizza places (Bella Pizza).
While they have other subs (as well as hamburgers and regular diner fare) on the menu, I generally come here for Paul’s Special sub which is a fully loaded 12″ sub with grilled onions, lettuce, cheese, tomato, rib eye steak, capicolla, and oil/vinegar dressing. At $25, it certainly not the cheapest sub in the world but you’ve really got to try this tasty sub.
This sub is definitely a big hot mess and I come back time and again to order it. No seriously, you can’t eat this without getting strings of hot, caramelized onions all over your face. Make sure you have some napkins handy because you’ll need it.
Make sure you bring some dolla dolla bills y’all because this place is cash only. I’ve heard some people complain about the elderly lady who runs this place but she’s always seemed pretty kind and friendly to me.
