Le BL Cafe: Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi

So, if you haven’t noticed this by now, there have got to be dozens of little Vietnamese shops on Victoria Drive. Le BL Cafe is one such nondescript eatery.

I decided to try their Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi ($7) since I had a hankering for a tasty sub. The good part of this banh mi has got to be the chicken. It was warm and juicy and flavourful. The only thing that needed some work was the bun. While is was slightly crispy, I thought that it was a bit too “bready” if you know what I mean. Now, I’m not sure if this is how their bread usually is or if it’s a one-off. Definitely worth a revisit to confirm.
