Bai Bau Thai Cuisine: Quality Thai Food in Hastings-Sunrise

Bai Bau Thai Cuisine is located on the East Hastings corridor near Nanaimo Street – near my former haunts. There’s nothing like finding a nice new Thai restaurant (well, new to me at least).

Dundas Eat and Drink: East Van Fusion

For the better part of my childhood, I grew up in East Van… specifically, in the area close to the PNE. Back in the day, it was hardly the place known for being able to find restaurants of any kind. However, over the last few years, a new bunch of eateries have popped up around the northeast corner of Vancouver.

Thai Chef Casual Cuisine: Lunch Specials in Burnaby

Thai Chef Casual Cuisine is one of the few Thai restaurants along the North Road corridor between Burnaby and Coquitlam. That probably partly explains why this place was so busy when I visited for lunch on a weekday.

Chad Thai: Better the Second Time Around

It’s been a number of years since my last visit to Chad Thai in the Burnaby Heights area… mainly because I wasn’t really thrilled with the food the first time around. However, finding us in the area on a rainy Sunday with a hankering for Thai food convinced me to give them another go.

Ban Chok Dee Thai Cuisine: Langley Thai Food

Van Thai: Fairly Solid Thai Dishes

Last year, I did a round of all of the Thai restaurants in the New Westminster area and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the shops. Earlier this year, I noticed a newish Thai spot that opened up on Carnarvon St (near the Skytrain station) called Van Thai. The interior is spacious but a bit on the dark side with minimal decor (partly due to the dark wood coloured chairs, tables, and chair railing).

Olay’s Thai Food Express (Hawaii 2018): Honolulu Farmers’ Market

The original purpose of our visit to the Honolulu Farmers’ Market (located in front of Blaisdell Concert Hall) was to get some yummy butter mochi cupcakes from Mochi Lab. However, we knew that we’d be hungry for something more substantial. Fortunately, there’s a ton of food stands here… one of which is Olay’s Thai Food Express.

Eat Me Thai: Grilled Pork Cheek Salad

Even though “Punjabi Market” is primarily located on Main Street, I’ve often associated the neighbouring area along Fraser St to be part and parcel with it. However, much like how Chinatown is no longer the sole domain of Chinese stores and restaurants, this area of south Fraser St has become more multicultural over time. Eat Me Thai is one such example and is brought to you by the team from Bangkok City Cafe on West 4th.

Sen Pad Thai: Holy Basil Stirfry

Sen Pad Thai is yet another Thai-inspired street food eatery from Angus An to go along with his other sister restaurants (Longtail Kitchen, Freebird Chicken, etc…). This shop is actually located in the Net Loft building at Granville Island (as opposed to the food court located in the market).

Freebird Chicken Shack: Chicken Cracklin’

Freebird Chicken Shack is Angus An’s Asian-style rotisserie chicken offering in New Westminster’s River Market. The sister restaurant of Longtail Kitchen, Freebird recently moved from their cramped store to the more spacious digs of the old Wally’s Burgers location across the way.

Longtail Kitchen: Lunch Specials

For those of you who haven’t been to the River Market in New West (formerly known as New West Quay), you might be surprised at the quality of restaurants located in this place.
