Strike (Aberdeen Centre): Black Pepper Pork

In bowling terms, a strike is an indication that the bowler has knocked down all of the pins with their first ball of a frame. When we’re talking about food, Strike is a popular Taiwanese chain that has a location in the Aberdeen food court.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle (Aberdeen)

Aberdeen Centre has some really good eats. If it weren’t for all of the crazy people in the parking lot, we’d probably be here more often. On one visit, we decided to try a Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle.

Mambo Cafe – Curry Beef Brisket and Baked Pork Chop

Every now and again, I get a craving for the kind of food that you can only get at HK style cafes, like Mambo Cafe located in Aberdeen Centre.  I suppose this is the Asian equivalent of getting a Big Mac combo at McDonalds. Read the rest of this entry

Wu Fung Dessert (Aberdeen Centre) – Chicken Wings

So, is this place called “Wu Fung” or “Wo Fung”? I’ve read a couple of different reviews and I’ve seen both used.  I think I’ll stick with “Wu Fung” since that’s what it says on the sign.  Mind you, it’s called “Wu Fung Dessert” but does anyone come here for dessert?

Teppan Kitchen

When I think of teppanyaki, I usually think back to the classic Three’s Company episode where Jack Tripper is trying to pretend (rather unsuccessfully) to be a seasoned Japanese chef.  I think Teppan Kitchen has been at Aberdeen Centre for a while but I usually get distracted by all of the other food stalls that I’ve never given it much thought… until now.

Tropika (Aberdeen)

Is there actually any shopping to do in Aberdeen Centre that doesn’t involve food?  Well, on this one weekend, we came by to pick up some cables from NCIX and bumped into our nephew and his friends so we decided to try out Tropika (located on the lower floor near Mei Jan Hong). Jang Mo Jib (Aberdeen Centre) – Chicken Bool Go Gee Lunch Box

I’m not sure why the ratings for Jang Mo Jib in Aberdeen are so low.  The prices are a little expensive, but most Korean places tend to be slightly higher in price and the serving size you get with their lunch special boxes is pretty good.

Basil Leaf (Aberdeen Centre) – Soup and Sandwich

Let me just say that this isn’t like the soup and sandwich that you get at a regular delicatessen.  Given the prices, however, I think you can’t find a better deal. Read the rest of this entry
