Kilimanjaro Snack House: East African Street Food
We stopped by in mid-June to a small little shop called Kilimanjaro Snack House. Here, they serve an assortment of east-African goodies to tempt your tastebuds. Our original reason for stopping by was to try their samosas but we wound up ordering a bunch of items (some of which, aren’t on their regular menu).

Safari Snack House & Grill: Samoas and Kebabs
Safari Snack House is a tiny little shop located in a mini mall on Canada Way. I came here around noon for lunch on a weekday and found that it was quite busy… especially with people coming for take-out orders.

Jambo Grill & Good Morning Paan – Dine In
I just found this old post sitting in my draft box from January of this year – I had almost forgotten about it. On our previous visits to Jambo Grill, we had take-out… this time around, we figured we’d stop by and dine in. The interior is fairly spacious with the walls decorated with various African artwork.
Simba’s Grill (Edmonds)
I had a tough time getting to Simba’s Grill the other day… and I was only a few minutes away. But with all of the road work, contruction, plus accidents on Canada Way and on one of the bridges, traffic down Edmonds was pretty hectic.

Looking for more tasty restaurants to try out, Jambo Grill & Good Morning Paan was recommended to me by a co-worker who shall remain nameless (you know who you are). Don’t be discouraged by the long, strange name… “Jambo” is Swahili for “Hello” and “Paan” is a traditional betel leaf wrapped with sweets and nuts used as a palate cleanser and to aid in digestion.
