FusionCore Japanese Eatery: Solid Take-Out Only Spot

Recently, I noticed a Japanese place show up on my radar that’s located in a mini mall along the busy Burnaby/New Westminster border. From past experience, most of these places are just your run-of-the-mill quick sushi places that are nothing to write home about. So I was actually pleasantly surprised by the variety of Japanese fare that FusionCore serves up.

Seto Japanese Restaurant: Solid but Expensive

Seto Japanese Restaurant is located in Richmond and serves up some pretty solid Japanese fare. We visited here in early February for lunch and had a bit of difficulty deciding what to order because they had a regular menu, a lunch menu, and then various specials plastered on walls (unfortunately, it was a bit difficult to read those items on the wall).

It’s probably been over 2 years since my last visit to Hayashi Sushi. Located in the Columbia Square Plaza in New Westminster, this cozy eatery serves up your typical Japanese fare and there’s usually plenty of free parking available in the mall parking lot.

Hanamori Sushi: Aburi in Coquitlam

I rarely tread out to the suburbs but I’ve been having difficulty finding new (to me) restaurants around my usual haunts. That’s how I wound up at Hanamori Sushi in Coquitlam. This small sushi restaurant is located in the same mini mall as the Executive Plaza on the north-east corner of North Road and Lougheed Hwy.

Hayashi Sushi: Solid Japanese Eats

Hayashi Sushi is located in the Columbia Square Plaza in New Westminster. The interior is adorned with paper lanterns and they have one side of the restaurant equipped with booths while smaller tables make up most of the seating in the middle of the restaurant.

Hi Sushi or “Hai” Sushi?

Hi Sushi is located on Carnarvon Street, behind the Plaza 88 and New West Skytrain Station. The interior walls are decorated with large dictionary-style explanations of what the word “Hi” means in English and what the phonetically-similar word “Hai” means in Japanese.
