Uncle Tetsu’s (Hawaii 2018): Honeydew Cheesecake and Mango Cheese Tarts

A few years ago, we came across Uncle Tetsu’s in the Royal Hawaiian Center food court in Waikiki. We were intrigued by the offer of a Japanese-style cheesecake as we’ve never heard of it previously. As it turned out, this light and airy cheesecake was unlike anything else we’ve ever had and we managed to scarf down our jiggly cheesecake in a matter of minutes. Since that day, we’ve always looked forward to returning to Hawaii so we could get more.

Uncle Rikuro’s Cheesecake: Osaka 2017

Our first introduction to Japanese cheesecake was at the Uncle Tetsu’s in Waikiki. If you’ve never tried Japanese cheesecake before, you have to understand that it’s not like the kind of cheesecake that you get in a western bakery. It’s much lighter and fluffier and just melts in your mouth.

Black Rook Bakehouse – Chocolate Brownie Cream Pie and Beef Brisket Pot Pie

Okay, I think I found my new favourite bakehouse in Vancouver.  Usually, you’ll find a bakery that only serves either sweet or savory items.  It’s rare that you find one that does both sweet and savory items really well. Read the rest of this entry

The Cheesecake Factory (Waikiki) – Hawaii 2013

Kalakaua Avenue is the place to go in Waikiki if you’re looking for shopping in a picturesque setting.  The Royal Hawaiian Center is a four-level shopping mall that spans three buildings on Kalakaua and is owned by the private Kamehameha Schools.  More importantly, you can find The Cheesecake Factory here (which is a must if you’re goiong to fuel your shopping spree). Cheesecake Factory (Las Vegas – Caesars Palace)

You might be wondering how we could possibly eat anything else after the huge meal we had earlier at the Bacchanal Buffet but the Cheesecake Factory was one of the spots we wanted to try and they open late.  Located at one end of the Forum Shops mall in Caesars Palace, the menu is quite extensive.
