Montana’s BBQ and Bar (Tsawwassen): Buttermilk Country Chicken and Ribs

To say that we don’t visit Tsawwassen much is an understatement. Located in the southern tip of Delta, most people wind up here if they’re heading to the ferries, to do some US shopping at Point Roberts, or if they’re heading out to Tsawwassen Mills (that large outlet shopping centre on Tsawwassen First Nations land). We were here for the latter and, after finishing our shopping, we stopped by Montana’s for lunch.

Le Bistro Montage (Portland Road Trip 2016)

Our 6 hour drive down from Vancouver, BC to Portland turned into a 9 hour trip due to a major accident on the I5 as well as numerous traffic snarl-ups. Since we wanted to get some shopping done, we decided to stop off for some dinner first. We were originally going to try Screen Door but it was so busy that we wound up at Le Bistro Montage instead.

Hog Shack Cook House – BBQ in Steveston

Just to be clear, I’m not a BBQ aficionado… “Kansas City” style BBQ?  I honestly have no clue.  My level of BBQ knowledge is pretty much summarized by the few months of the year that we fire up the grill in the backyard.  That’s not to say that I don’t know what I like though.

There are so many great places to dine at Granville Island… I guess it’s a good thing that we don’t live closer otherwise we’d never leave.  Whet is located near the entrance of Granville Island (where the old Sammy J Peppers used to be) across from the Kids Market.

Ouisi Bistro – Cornbread and Gumbo

Ouisi Bistro’s been on my wishlist of restaurants to try for a couple of years but we never find ourselves out in that area… until just recently on a rare sunny Friday in November.  I was a bit surprised to see the restaurant was rather dead (not usually a good sign) but at least we had the pick of the tables and sat closer to the window to allow for more natural light.
