Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (Fairview): Shio Ramen and Melon Soda

Like the sushi joints that proliferated the Vancouver dining scene years ago, the same trend appears to have happened with ramen houses. In addition to independent ramen restaurants, popular chains, such as Hokkaido Ramen Santouka which originated in Japan back in the 80’s, have made Vancouver their home.

Dynasty Seafood Restaurant: Dim Sum

Have you ever noticed that the names of Chinese restaurants all sound the same? Take, for example, “Dynasty Seafood Restaurant”… could this be any more typical of a Chinese restaurant name? In any event, Dynasty (not to be confused with Dinesty) is a popular and well received restaurant located on West Broadway in Vancouver. There is free underground parking, just remember not to pay at the machine (tell them your license plate number and stall number when you go to the restaurant).

Benkei Ramen: Miso Ramen

Okay, so this post is a bit late… about 10 months late. In that time, Benkie changed their menu a bit, closed down, and is finally gearing back up to reopen next week. Apollonia Greek – Understated Greek Restaurant

Apollonia Greek Restaurant is a small Greek restaurant located just on the outskirts of Granville Island. Given the building renovations they were doing when we visited at the end of July, it was rather nondescript from the outside which probably explains why it wasn’t super busy.

Royal Seoul House Korean Restaurant

Royal Seoul House Korean Restaurant has been a staple on Broadway since 1990. I remember this being my introduction to Korean food back in the 90’s but I haven’t been back here in years.

Dynasty Seafood Restaurant – Dim Sum

It’s been a few years since we were last at Dynasty Seafood Restaurant on West Broadway. I suppose that’s why we didn’t remember that they have free underground parking in the back (just remember to not pay in the parking lot and give your stall number to the restaurant)… they really need bigger signs for this.
