Heaven Sent Fried Chicken (Everett): Ezell’s Famous Chicken

If you’ve ever head of Ezell’s Famous Chicken (and you probably have if you watch Oprah because she once stated it was her favourite fried chicken), then you’ll know that it’s a popular chain in the Seattle area. As it turns out Ezell had a falling out with the company that he co-founded and has since changed the name of his remaining locations to Heaven Sent Fried Chicken. Wow… talk about drama!

Le Bistro Montage (Portland Road Trip 2016)

Our 6 hour drive down from Vancouver, BC to Portland turned into a 9 hour trip due to a major accident on the I5 as well as numerous traffic snarl-ups. Since we wanted to get some shopping done, we decided to stop off for some dinner first. We were originally going to try Screen Door but it was so busy that we wound up at Le Bistro Montage instead.

The Pig and the Lady (Hawaii 2016) – Vietnamese Fare in Chinatown

Coming from a city like Vancouver, that has a very vibrant Asian community, we’ve never been impressed by the Chinatown districts of other cities. Sure, the Vancouver Chinatown has declined as well over the years, but it still seems larger and more impressive than other cities like Honolulu, which is about approximately 4 square blocks (depending on how you define the area).
