Net Loft Cafe – The Big Giant Cookie

I did a double-take when I walked by the Net Loft Cafe in Granville Island and saw the humongous cookies staring back at me.  For a brief fleeting moment, I felt like I was the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. Read the rest of this entry

Dockside Restaurant – Linguine

To me, 2013 felt like a very long year so I was trying to use up some of my accumulated vacation with short 1-day staycations.  On one of those days in late November, we decided to head out to Granville Island and paid a visit to one of our staples… Dockside Restaurant located in the Granville Island Hotel. Thai Eleven – Granville Island

Inside the Granville Island Public Market is a food court that always seems busy when we visit.  Due to the limited seating, we usually don’t dine here and head to one of the nearby restaurants.  But on our last visit, we noticed a Thai place in the food court called Thai Eleven.

L’Epicerie Rotisserie & Gourmet Shop

Inside the Granville Island Public Market is a shop that serves roast meats, sandwiches, and carries specialty infused olive oils and vinegars on tap.  I’ve admired some of their hot savory foods before but have never tried them out.  Since we had just had a seafood fest at the Sandbar, I just grabbed some sweets to bring home. Sandbar Seafood Restaurant – Mussels, Oysters, and Hash

I know that there are a lot of places to eat at Granville Island but one of our default go-to places is the Sandbar.  Run under the same banner that manages The Teahouse, Cardero’s, and Seasons in the Park, they know how to put together a good plate of food and all have beautiful locations… perfect for a date.

Lee’s Donuts

After visiting Whet.Kitchen.Bar.Patio last year, we stopped by Lee’s Donuts in the Public Market.  Lee’s has been in Granville Island for years… before all of the new donut shops started opening up around town. Read the rest of this entry

Whet Kitchen.Bar.Patio

There are so many great places to dine at Granville Island… I guess it’s a good thing that we don’t live closer otherwise we’d never leave.  Whet is located near the entrance of Granville Island (where the old Sammy J Peppers used to be) across from the Kids Market. Read the rest of this entry

GI Gelato & Coffee House – Granville Island Treat

Located directly under The Sandbar, we’ve often seen the large ice cream statue that’s situated in front of the Relief boat through their large windows.  Despite coming to Granville Island on many occasions, we’ve never actually tried the gelato down here until just recently. Edible Canada at the Market – A Tribute to Canadian Bacon

If you’ve been reading some of my previous posts, you’ll probably get the idea that I like bacon (and chocolate)… so it really shouldn’t be much of a surprise that when I heard about the Tribute to Canadian Bacon at the Edible Canada take out window, I had to try it out when we visited Granville Island recently. Siegel’s Bagels (Granville Island) – Stuffed Bagels

I’ve walked by Siegel’s Bagels many times while maneuvering through the crowded Market at Granville Island but I’ve never taken the time to see what they have to offer… I figured they had bagels but, so what?  I mean, sure, I like bagels but there are so many other things at Granville Island to grab your interest like nearby Lee’s Donuts. The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant – Granville Island Staycation

We decided to make like the many tourists in Vancouver and visit Granville Island for our version of a staycation.  One of our favourite restaurants to visit in Granville Island is The Sandbar located only a short walk away from the Market.

The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant – Asian Lettuce Wraps

We were a bit disappointed recently when we stopped by Dockside Restaurant around 11am for lunch only to find out that their lunch menu didn’t start until 11:30am.  Not really feeling in the mood for breakfast, we stayed for a quick bite and then headed down to The Sandbar afterwards for the lunch we were hoping for.
