Cactus Club (Station Square): Disappointing Service

You know, I remember back in the day when Cactus Club was known for their cow-themeed decor… seems like those days are long gone now (probably for the best). You just have to look at their recently opened location in Station Square. You can tell that they must have spent a lot of moolah here. That being said, I can’t say that I was very impressed by our visit.

Hy’s Steakhouse: Old School Steak House

While The Keg has opened up steakhouses to the mass public in Canada with almost a Earls/Cactus Club-like feel, when you think of old school steakhouses… you’re probably thinking about Hy’s. Filled with old world charm, dark mahogany wood, waiters in monogrammed uniforms, etc… this is the quintessential steakhouse that has over 60 years of history in Canada.

The Pie Hole: One of the Best Pie Shops in Vancouver

About ten years ago, there was a tv show on air called Pushing Daisies about a man with the ability to bring back the dead… but with certain consequences. Together with his formerly-deceased childhood crush, he used his abilities to solve murder cases. The reason why I mention this is because the main character was a baker and opened a restaurant called “The Pie Hole”. Since then, I’ve had a fascination with being able to walk into a shop called “The Pie Hole” and order up a bunch of different tasty pies.
