Rib & Chicken (Burnaby): Korean Ribs and Fried Chicken

Recently, I had noticed a new restaurant open up in the little mini mall on the corner of Canada Way and Edmonds. Located in a former unsuccessful Mexican/BBQ joint that I tried a year earlier, this new place was known simply as Rib & Chicken so I was expecting another BBQ place. However, it’s actually a Korean restaurant that specializes in Korean-style ribs and chicken.

Chicko Chicken (Edmonds): Korean Fried Chicken

Chicko Chicken is a franchise that specializes in Korean fried chicken. Recently, I noticed a small sliver of a storefront open up on Edmonds Street in Burnaby. The thing that caught my eye was that there wasn’t a door to get into the place! As it turns out, the shop’s entrance is actually located in the back parking lot… talk about a hole-in-the-wall!

88 PalPal Noodle House: Black Bean Noodles

Back in early March, I checked out 88 PalPal Noodle House, which is the latest restaurant to take up digs in the corner of Kingsway and Marlborough. I wasn’t entirely sure what kind of food to expect here (aside from being a noodle joint) but it turned out to be a mainly Korean restaurant (the interior looks like they spiffed things up a bit since the last tenant but the overall layout is basically the same).

Recently, I noticed a relatively new Korean restaurant open up on Victoria Drive called Sumi Korean Restaurant. Sushi Itshoni: Don’t Visit for the Sushi

Sushi Itshoni is a bit of a misleading restaurant that’s located in the Hanin Village mini mall on North Road in Coquitlam. I say misleading because, by the name, you’d expect that this place would have sushi.
